International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship

In order to cope with the impact of COVID-19,  Northwest University offers online Chinese language program sponsored by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation under the Ministry of Education in China. A brand new learning experience will provide better opportunities for outstanding students and currently-employed Chinese language teachers worldwide to study Chinese in their own countries.

 

I Eligibility

 

All applicants shall be:

1. Non-Chinese citizens overseas;

2. In good physical and mental conditions, and with good academic performance and conduct;

3. Committed to the Chinese language education and related work, with strong interest in learning Chinese;

4. Between the ages of 16 and 35. Applicants currently working as Chinese language teachers shall not be over 45.

 

II Scholarship categories and qualifications:


Note: Besides the above mentioned regular online one-year/one-semester program, NWU can also tailor-make short-term group programs (at least 4 weeks). Individual applicants will not be accepted. Details will be further discussed on this matter.


III Scholarship coverage:

Tuition fee for all the online courses and cultural related activities

 

IV Time for Class:

September 1, or March 1

 

V Application Procedure:

 

1. Register and log in for the Scholarship application system:

http://cis.chinese.cn/account/login

 

2. Fill in the application form online. As for the scholarship category, please select one semester (study online) and one year (study online) and type in the duration of study. As for the first choice, please select 西北大学.

 

3. Click submit after uploading all the application documents (including passport, photo, study certificate or graduation certificate, HSK/HSKK).

 

4. Check application information and progress.

 

VI Certificate:

Students who have over 70% online class attendance and pass the final exam shall be awarded with the graduation certificate issued by Northwest University.
