Northwest University International Students Senior Scholars Programs

I. Duration: one semester or more

II. Applicants Eligibility Requirements:

 1  Be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health;

 2  Degree and Age:

1) Undergraduate Program Applicants should have at least senior-high diploma, and age below 25.

2) Master Program Applicants should have bachelor degree or above, age below 40.

3) Doctoral Program Applicants should have master degree or above, age below 45.

Note: All applicants must be over 18 years old.

3 Prerequisite Language Requirements:

1) Applicants for Chinese bachelor degree programs should have HSK 4 certificate; For English bachelor degree programs should have TOEFL 50 or IELTS 5 Certificate.

2)Applicants for Chinese master and doctoral degree programs should have HSK 5 Certificate.

3)Applicants for English doctoral degree programs should have at least TOEFL 60 or IELTS 5.5 exam report.

Note: Native speakers are excluded with English Proficiency requirements.

III.Application Deadline:

  June 30^th: for Fall Semester

  December 31^th: for Spring Semester

IV. Application Materials: ‍

1. Application Form for Foreign Students to NWU with signature;

2. Copy of Passport Photopage;

3. Notarized highest diploma (Prospective diploma recipients must submit official document issued by your current school to prove your current student status or expected graduation date);

4. Academic transcripts;

5. A Study Plan or Research Proposal in Chinese or English with a minimum of 800 words;

6. Two recommendation letters in Chinese or English from professors or associate professors;

7. Foreigner Physical Examination Form

8. The copy of valid Language Certificate;

9. Acceptance letter of NWU supervisor;

10. Notarized Non-criminal Record (Mother language and notarized Chinese translations, please contact to tonwu@nwu.edu.cn for more information);

Notes:Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.No application documents will be returned.

V. Application Procedure:

1. Complete online application at http://nwu.17gz.org, print and sign the ApplicationForm for Foreign Students to NWU

2. Please post all paper documents to NWU.

3. After internal review and evaluation, NWU will confirm with the short listedstudents for final approval.

4. NWU will send Admission Letters and JW202 Forms for the final confirmedscholarship candidates.

Note: Please provide valid mailing address, email address, and Phone No.

VI. Admission Notification:

After examining the application, the admission office will make a decision on admission notification. The successful candidates will be provided with an admission notice, a JW202 form (Visa application form), Guidance for Freshman etc.. These documents will be posted to the permanent postal address of the applicants.

Usually the students are required to report at the admission office with their admission notice and other documents in March or September (the start of new session). Failure to do so within three weeks of the new term will be regarded as forfeiting the admission.

VII. Tuition and Fees:

1 Registration fee: RMB 350.

2 Comprehensive Medical Insurance: RMB 800/year

3 Tuition fee: RMB/Year

4) Accommodation fee:  RMB
